Summary: It always had been the worst day of her life. And Freddie wants to know why. Kind of a drabble. Just an idea that popped in my head. Kinda sad.

9112001, And What It Means To Carly Shay

**A/N: This is a one-shot that popped into my head last night. I do not own iCarly, blah, blah, blah. Dedicated to everyone who lost their life on September 11, 2001. **

**Carly's POV**

I trudged downstairs slowly. I hated today. For many reasons. Spencer was cooking in the kitchen. "Morning Carly.""Hey Spencer." "You really want to go to school? I won't make you."

"No its fine. Trust me."

"Alright. I will. Here, you need to eat." I sighed and took a plate. It had some of Spencer's amazing waffles on it.

"Thanks." I sat down just as Sam walked in.

"Hey guys!" "Hey Sam.""What's for breakfast?" Sam, ruled by her stomach.

"Waffles, here have some." Spencer put some on a plate and handed it to her. Freddie chose that moment to walk in.

"You guys ready?" He asked.

"No." Sam called out.

"Almost." I finished and put the plate in the sink. Five minutes later, we were out the door.

I walked into school with Sam and Freddie. Everything reminded me of why today was so depressing for me. I opened my locker and stuffed my books in. "Carly." Freddie tapped my shoulder. "What's going on? You've been acting a little strange."

"Nothing. It's just…" I felt a tear in my eye. I never had told Freddie. "My mom died nine years ago today."

"Uh. Oh. I'm sorry."

"Its okay. You see, the night before, I had woke up in the middle of the night, scared to death. I had a very bad asthma attack, and my dad and Spencer took me to the hospital. You see, my mom was on a business trip at the time. And that's when the world pretty much ended. The plane crashed into the tower, and I never heard from my mom again. When it collapsed, I didn't know what to do. And ever since then, today has always been the worst day of my life." Freddie was at a loss for words.

"Carly. That…I'm sorry. I mean." I held up a hand. "Its okay. We need to go to class." He nodded and we walked up the stairs.
